Paul Stayback, originally from NJ, came to WA with the Army where he was a medic, and then decided to make WA his home. After the Army, Paul used his benefits to get his Sociology degree from Central Washington University and then a Masters of Social Work from the University of Washington. Paul has worked in construction, in operating rooms, in Child Protective Services, been a case worker for veterans, and worked in Mental Health and Veterans Court. While in NJ Paul was also a member of emergency services.
Paul is a combat veteran and continues to work with and advocate for veterans across several areas and is involved with several Veterans organizations. Veterans have been a part of his practice. Paul also specializes in males, ages 13 and older, first responders, active military, and men’s issues.
Paul truly meets the client where they are at with a non-judgmental approach. He believes that we all have lives and stories to tell, and that life is hard — a judgmental counselor only makes it harder. He utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused approaches, and EMDR as his main modalities in practice.
