Dr. Kateryna Kuzmychova

Kateryna Kuzmychova, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Dr. Kateryna Kuzmychova is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Washington. She’s spent more than 20 years in health care, supporting patients and families through some of life’s toughest moments. What sets her apart isn’t just her clinical expertise; it’s the compassion and understanding that she brings to every interaction.

Her career has taken her through hospitals, private practices, adult family homes, and rehabilitation facilities, where she cared for people living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and complex behavioral health needs. Those experiences taught her patience, empathy, and the importance of treating each person as an individual with their own story.

Today, Dr. Kateryna works with adults ages 25 through 100, helping them navigate depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and dementia. She believes in a holistic, patient-centered approach that looks at the whole person in mind, body, and spirit. In her sessions, she blends brief psychotherapy, supportive counseling, and practical strategies, including cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused techniques to help people build resilience and move toward meaningful change.

Dr. Kateryna comes from a rich Ukrainian-Russian background, which has given her a deep appreciation for diversity and the many ways culture shapes health and healing. Her multicultural upbringing and multilingual experience allow her to connect with people from different backgrounds with empathy and understanding. This perspective enriches her practice, helping her create a welcoming environment where patients feel seen, respected, and supported.

Outside of work, Dr. Kateryna loves spending time with her family, friends, and her cat Lyopa. She trains in functional fitness and is working toward competing in a Spartan race. Dr. Kateryna is also a devoted hockey fan, cheering loudly for both the Seattle Kraken and the Torrent. “Go Kraken and Torrent!”
