We provide mental and behavioral health care for children, teens, and young adults ages 5 to 21 in Everett, Washington. Depending on your child’s age and needs, care may include psychiatric evaluation and medication management, individual therapy, or psychological and neuropsychological testing.
It is not always obvious which kind of care to look for first. A child who needs therapy may need a different provider than a child who needs medication management or diagnostic testing. Because our providers work with different ages, conditions, and insurance plans, we help families identify the right place to start.
If you are not sure what kind of appointment your child needs, tell us their age and what you have been noticing. We can help you determine which provider or service may fit.
Psychiatric evaluation and medication management are provided by our psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners. Care may include evaluation of symptoms, review of medical and treatment history, discussion of treatment goals, and medication management when clinically appropriate.
Individual therapy is available for children and teens. Therapy may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, play therapy, and other approaches within the treating therapist’s scope. Therapy does not include medication prescribing.
Psychological and neuropsychological testing is available for patients ages 5 and older through licensed psychologist Dr. Olivia Dorn. Testing is an evaluation service rather than ongoing therapy or medication management and can help answer specific diagnostic, emotional, behavioral, cognitive, or learning questions.
Age is one of the first things we consider when helping a family find the right provider.
Holly Munn sees children and teens through age 19. We also have providers who continue psychiatric care and psychological testing into adulthood.
Age is only one part of the match. Each provider also has a different clinical scope, so the condition or concern bringing your family to us matters too.
The age listed above means we have at least one provider who works with that condition beginning at that age. It does not mean every provider or every service is available for every condition.

The insurance plans we accept vary by provider. If insurance is an important part of choosing where to start, the individual provider information above can help narrow your options.
Several of our pediatric providers participate with plans including Aetna, Premera, Regence, Kaiser, Cigna, UHC/Optum Behavioral Health, First Choice, and Tricare West, but participation is not the same across the team.
Because networks and individual benefits can change, contact us before the first appointment to review current insurance information for the provider you are considering.
What happens first depends on which service your child needs.
For psychiatric evaluation and medication management, we begin by reviewing symptoms, relevant history, and treatment goals. If medication is appropriate, follow-up visits allow the prescribing provider to review response, side effects, and whether changes are needed.
For therapy, your child or teen meets with a therapist to talk about the concerns bringing them to care and begin working toward treatment goals using approaches appropriate to their age and needs.
For psychological or neuropsychological testing, Dr. Dorn provides an evaluation rather than ongoing treatment. If you are considering testing, contact us to discuss the type of evaluation you are looking for and current scheduling options.
You do not have to determine the correct service on your own before contacting us. If you tell us your child’s age and what is bringing you in, we can help you find the most appropriate starting point.
We have providers who work with children beginning at age 5. Which services and conditions are available depends on the individual provider.
No. Insurance participation varies by provider. We recommend checking the provider information on this page and contacting us for current coverage information before scheduling.
Medication management is provided by our psychiatric prescribers and may include psychiatric evaluation and medication treatment.
