Josie Boyden

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, MSN, PMHNPBC

I hold a masters degree in psychology and art therapy and I am trained as a psychedelic preparation and integration specialist. I am currently licensed to practice therapy in the state of Washington. Whether you’re facing trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or life transitions, I am here to provide you with the guidance and support you need to cope, to change, and ultimately to thrive.

As a licensed therapist, I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and supporting their emotional well-being. With over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, I specialize in complex trauma recovery, anxiety management, depression, PTSD, and I’m a certified neurodivergent affirming therapist. My approach to therapy is gentle, intuitive, empathic, client-centered, and evidence-based. I draw from a range of therapeutic, spiritual, and shamanic modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), meditation/mindfulness-based techniques, art therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. I have experience providing therapeutic support during ketamine treatments and I can also facilitate preparation and integration sessions for psychedelic journeys to complement and promote self-exploration, growth, and change.

The foundation of good therapy is a strong relationship between the therapist and client; I am skilled in co-creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly. I have a strong background in social justice and trauma work and I’m dedicated to using a trauma-informed approach that’s gentle, tender, and direct. Through collaborative goal-setting and personalized treatment plans, I work alongside my clients to support them to overcome obstacles, develop coping skills, and foster positive change in their lives.

I believe we all have the capacity to heal and improve, and I consider it an honor and a privilege to be able to accompany my clients on their paths to greater ease, joy, and well being.
